re•create has
an immediate need for volunteers !

Working at re•create is wonderful way to join a dedicated team of  people  who find joy in serving our community. If you're not already involved in service opportunities in Cambria, re•create is a great place to start. re•create needs your help, and the people who shop there need to be touched by the love of Jesus. Please contact Kathleen or Tammy for further information.

Praise and Worship

We believe that in the midst of a busy week, it is important to carve out moments of stillness to soak in God's presence through corporate worship and sharing His word. Please join Jesse Wednesday mornings in the Sanctuary from 8:00-9:00am

Cambria Community Thanksgiving Dinner

This year we will celebrate our 40th anniversary of hosting the Cambria Community Thanksgiving Dinner and we are thrilled to be returning to the Cambria Vet’s Hall. Covid is still present, so for safety reasons, we will be contracting with a single source restaurant to cook and prepare 1000 dinners. Once again five Cambria churches (Vineyard, Presbyterian, Catholic, Calvary Chapel and First Baptist) will join together to host this year’s dinner. We will not be cooking, but we will be setting up the hall, serving the dinners, desserts, beverages, providing music and doing clean up. All churches will be asked to help provide planning, staffing, equipment and provide some dining supplies. Again, the dinners will be free and served from 11:30am to 3:30pm Thanksgiving Day. Dinners for shut-ins will be delivered between 1:00pm to 2:30pm. Donations are greatly appreciated.

God has blessed our community, our lives and our community Thanksgiving dinners. If you would like to get involved or have questions please see Dave Dignam, Jeff Marchant or Sonia Caldeira. We will have a table set up in the courtyard between services starting at the end of September.

Sunday Pre-Service Prayer

We gather upstairs to pray at 9:15am in the staff meeting room. This is a time when we pray for the morning services, those who will be coming, the other churches in town, and the move of the Holy Spirit. We welcome everyone to join us at that time!

Women’s Bible Study Starting Friday at 10:00 am.

Dear Ladies,

I'm looking forward to seeing all of you this Friday at the church for this Bible Study upstairs at 10 am!  I've missed you all!  There's a change in our study this time.  We are postponing our study “What Happens Next” by Max Lucado.  I know you were looking forward to that study, but let's wait on it.  I feel led to do another study first by Max Lucado, “God Never Gives Up On You”.  I will be sharing the trailer for this study on Friday.  If you would like to order a study guide, I will provide the information at the end of this email.  I praying for all of you and I hope to see you Friday!  God bless you!

Love,

Cheryl

Missions Update

Urban Outreach

Taking the Gospel to the streets.

South Phoenix

Where we are dedicated to spreading the Love of Christ! We want to guide people towards the Cross. We are on a mission to show that the word of God can change even the most rebellious sinner. Our vision is to preach the Gospel's life changing message of redemption in the streets. To reach the unhoused, the addicted, and the afflicted, and to lead them towards a life changing encounter with JESUS!

Whatever it takes

In July, we had the amazing opportunity to sponsor a school in the White Mountains on the Apache reservation. Our team has been fortunate to visit this wonderful community multiple times this year, and on each visit, we've been incredibly grateful for the timely supply donations that have allowed us to support the local church. When we spoke with the pastor, we learned about the students' urgent need for school supplies, as well as the challenging economic circumstances in what is the second most impoverished area in Arizona. Fueled by our faith, we were determined to do whatever it took to provide assistance to these deserving kids.

Initially, our plan was to put together 30 backpacks, but our efforts blossomed over time, and we were ultimately able to gather and purchase enough supplies to fill around 40 backpacks, benefiting an additional 20 students with essential resources. Our collection included hundreds of folders, crayons, colored pencils, pencils, pens, scissors, glue, binders, 100 lbs. of coffee, packs of brand-new boxers, and cases of water – it was truly remarkable.

After a heartfelt message from Rebecca Gomez about walking in the spirit, we all came together for a joyful fellowship luncheon. Seeing the children's excitement as they received their school supplies was truly heartwarming, and many had even preselected the folders and bags they wanted. The atmosphere was filled with pure joy as the children patiently lined up, and we took great care to ensure that each bag was thoughtfully filled. Witnessing the delight on each child's face as they selected their perfect pencil case was an incredible blessing.

Being a US missionary allows us to spread the message of Jesus and positively impact countless lives. It's an honor to travel between churches, meeting diverse groups of people, and being prepared to carry out His work.

Doors Opening

I am thrilled to share with you an amazing new opportunity to spread the gospel at the C.A.S.S. shelter in downtown Phoenix! Every Monday, we have a worship service in the morning and a Bible study in the afternoon at the shelter, a cozy space near the shelter's cafeteria that can comfortably accommodate about 50 people. The response has been incredible - our ministry is growing, with more and more individuals, including returning visitors, joining us each week. It's truly heartwarming to see so many people facing tough challenges and earnestly seeking God's help. Our goal is to pack the Chapel to capacity and expand our services throughout the week. We also conduct the Bible study in the men's dorm and earnestly pray for more individuals to join us. Your prayers for the shelter's residents and our ministry mean the world to us as we embark on this new journey to advance the Kingdom of God. Thank you for your support and prayers!

GREETERS NEEDED

At Cambria Vineyard Church we are asking for the More of God. That means more newcomers who are looking to connect with a body of believers who care. Thats us! We want to form a Welcome team that can greet newcomers at both services. Follow through with each visitor to be sure they are aware of opportunities to get plugged into our Body through small groups, or service opportunities. If God is speaking to your heart about this, please contact the office with your info either the volunteer button or call Kelly Ward at the office.
